I'm drawn to large bodies of water. Because of this, I feel very fortunate to live so close to the Puget Sound. I dropped Jeff off at work and drove to Golden Gardens. I always forget how much I love walking along the shore at Golden Gardens in the morning. The peaceful sounds of small waves crashing, cranes hunting for shellfish, and the occasional train going by. The mornings often bring in low tides and today was no exception.
I saw a man fly fishing out in the water and it made me wish I had waders. It'd be nice to go out into the water without getting cold and wet. I enjoy the art of trying to avoid stepping on jellyfish and anemones.
I used to walk along parts of the south Sound when I lived up there and one of my favorite things was seeing starfish and barnacles clinging to rocks during low tide. I do miss it.
ReplyDeleteI don't see starfish too often which is a big bummer. Lots of jellyfish though. I'm always worried I'll set on them and end up with a shoe full of goo.
